Remote Desktop Wireless
Hi, in case anyone else stumbles upon this thread, I've the same issue with Windows managing my connection and a Netgear WG111 USB Wifi stick (which is a cool little thing).
The network is dropped on my Media Center about 10 secs into a remote desktop, mstsc connection. Back down at the MC, all is apparently okay according to all reports, but it won't ping or be pinged.
To get it back, I disconnect from my wifi AP and reconnect and all is okay.
Now this is a similar issue as when I reboot. New 'boots' are always greated by happy reports of connectivity from both the Netgear monitor and Windows, but DNS doesn't work. It'll ping but it won't read from my DNS server! I've never seen such a thing.
Disconnect/reconnect sorts this, too.
Now if I reboot and don't log in, its okay. So I think there's either a problem with user switching, or the Netgear software does something on login etc. maybe I'll rename the file for that monitor applet and see...
